Tropical Cyclone Intensity Estimation Study

The project also involves assembling a large tropical cyclone GOES-R proxy database from recent storms. AVHRR and MODIS data for tropical cyclone cases will be provided as proxy GOES-R data for the tropical cyclone intensity algorithm development. The simple version of the Objective Dvorak Technique for hurricane intensity will be applied on the dataset as a preliminary test. The navigation panel on the left provides links to the proxy tropical cyclone data.
