1The Chang'e-4 lander and the Yutu-2 rover are on the far side of the Moon and so cannot communicate directly with Earth. The Queqiao lunar relay satellite, in orbit at a location beyond the Moon from which it has a clear view of both the landing site and Earth, receives signals from the lander and rover and relays them to Earth.
