The IK-1 series includes IK-1, 4, 7, 11, 14, and 16, all of which have a ds-u3-ik bus, as noted on the IK-series satellite reference images page.
See here for a list of engraved/lithographed Russian definitive pairs known to exist with satellite overprints.
Not Vanguard-2; rather, according to the Michel catalog, East Germany 370 shows "Künstlicher Erdsatellit Sputnik I, Teil der Erdkugel, Mond" which translates to "Artificial Earth satellite Sputnik I, part of the Earth, Moon". Note that this stamp was issued 1957-11-07 which is before any Vanguard satellite was launched.
The World Telecommunications Day (WTD) commemorates the founding of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 1865. It has been celebrated each year on 17 May since 1969. In 1975, a unknown-identity/fantasy-design satellite appeared on several 7th WTD postal items. In 1965 and 1966, a different unknown-identity/fantasy-design satellite appeared on stamps from the United Nations and Uruguay that were issued for the 100th anniversary of the ITU.
Three-axis stabilization is a method of spacecraft attitude control in which the spacecraft is held fixed in the desired orientation without any rotation. This design is now common for communications satellites, often with large solar panels on each side of the spacecraft.
Spin-stabilization is a method of spacecraft attitude control in which the usually cylindrical spacecraft is held fixed in the desired orientation using rotation (an analogy is a spinning top which remains upright in a fixed orientation if it is spinning fast enough). This design was common for early communications satellites, whose solar cells were placed around the perimeter of the cylinder.
Marsnet: A Mars-orbiting communications and navigation satellite constellation, a mission that was canceled.
CNSR: Comet Nucleus Sample Return satellite, a mission that was canceled. See http://adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1987LPI....18...11A
Mars Water: The authors have been unable to find even a shred of evidence for such a satellite. We speculate that it might be a design that never got past the preliminary concept stage.
GRASP: Gamma-Ray Astronomy with Spectroscopy and Positioning satellite, a mission that was canceled.
RCC: Regional Communications Commonwealth / Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC), established in 1991. The RCC logo has an unknown/generic communications satellite in the upper-right.
AGORA: Affordable and Guaranteed Offers for Rural Areas (satellite planned by the French CNES, but canceled)
The Multi-Scout Mars Lander was an early concept under consideration by NASA to be the first Scout mission in 2007.
In late 2007 CNES and ESA canceled plans to send a remote sensing orbiter and four small Netlanders to Mars.
Lunar-A is a canceled Japanese lunar orbiter that was originally scheduled to be launched in August 2004.
