This page contains (all known) covers with "Sokalsky" cachets produced by artist Barbara Sokalsky and manufacturer Edward Warchol, eventually sold to T.D. Productions, to mark satellite launches and other space-related events. Those covers most often include this logo. Here are examples of what may be the 7 most common generic Sokalsky logo designs, 5 of which are also found on this manufacturer's information sheet.
One of the Sokalsky generic cachet designs depicts Earth surrounded by 19 different rockets, in 6 different colors: black, blue, magenta, orange, purple, and red. An interesting detail of this cachet is that one of the rockets is the Jupiter-C that lofted Explorer-1 into orbit on 31 January, 1958. In this page, entries with this cachet are presented with two detail images in their Notes: one of the cachet itself, and the other with the cachet annotated to identify the Jupiter-C launch rocket with Explorer-1 mounted on top of it. This set of Sokalsky covers is an adjunct to the Explorer-1 page, which includes text that directs the user to this page in order to examine them.
Most of the postal items listed below are also found in other pages of the Un-manned Satellite Philately website. However, below are also a few items not found elsewhere in the website because they are not of direct interest to the authors. They are nevertheless included here to make this list of named covers more complete. Such items are highlighted in blue.
Readers who know of additional information or images are invited to contact the authors using the e-mail addresses found at the link at the bottom of this page.
