Resurs-O1 (Russia) | Sich-1 (Russia-Ukraine) |
This page contains philatelic information on the Resurs (and other Russian environmental-observing satellites). Catalog numbers, years of issue, and notes on the satellites featured are given when available. If readers know of additional information or images, please contact the authors using the e-mail addresses at the bottom of this page.
Early Okean spacecraft also had Kosmos designations, but since all of them had environmental observing as their primary mission, philatelic items referring to them are shown in this page only.

1Sich was an Earth-orbiting environmental-observing satellite. One side of the coin shows the satellite above the lunar surface, but that is incorrect. Sich was never anywhere near the Moon.
2Later Almaz reconnaissance satellites only, not earlier Almaz space stations.

2Space Flight "Europe-America 500" was a 1992 goodwill mission between Russia and the US in which a Resurs-500 capsule was launched from Plesetsk, orbited Earth for 7 days, splashed down in the Pacific off the coast of Washington state and was picked up by the Russian missile-tracking ship Marshal Krylov which brought it to Seattle, where it was placed on permanent display at the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field
