Note: this is the most complicated slide of the presentation. The keys are (1) propagation to the right of the shear vector and (2) the doubling of updraft strength due to rotation. This process is germane to supercells only. USP manifests itself through continuous propagation. This effect may be related to shear strength and thermodynamics (studies are in progress). Especially important when advection is weak (or opposite to mean wind), and also for "atypical" hodographs. If the shear is exceptionally large, significant deviations from the mean wind may also occur.
