1) Introduction

    Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the spectrum of NHC tropical cyclone track models


  • Describe the general strengths and weaknesses of each track model


  • Understand how track models are used in consensus forecasts


  • Have an overview of future track forecast model improvements


2) Prerequisites

    This is a basic course.

    There are no prerequisites.

3) Teletraining Installation Instructions


4) Training Session Options:

    A.) The interactive VISITview training session. (To be used with a VISIT instructor leading the session ). Click here to signup for teletraining. The session will last 60 minutes. This teletraining session uses the VISITview software, where Windows PC with an Internet connection is needed.

    B.) Web-based Video training session. Click on the play button to begin the session and make sure the volume on your speakers is sufficient. If you are a NOAA employee that desires credit for taking this training session, take this course on the LMS. The course is listed in the training and development catalog under the tropical cyclones and hurricanes topic.
