One of the missions of the NOAA/NESDIS/StAR/RAMM Branch is to help assess GOES Imager and Sounder data quality. Calibration/validation activities include:

GOES-O Science Test:

• The launch of GOES-O is currently scheduled for 28 April 2009. Based on that launch date, the Science Test will occur in the late spring or early summer of 2009.
• GOES-O NOAA/Science Post Launch Test (PLT)

GOES-13 Science Test:

• The GOES-13 Science Test was conducted 7 through 28 December 2006. Data continued to be transmitted and collected until GOES-13 was put into storage mode on 5 January 2007.
• GOES-13 NOAA/Science Post Launch Test (PLT)
