Mesoscale
Modeling

The RAMS mesoscale model has been used to simulate the decay
of a left moving supercell. The results show that the decay was due to
the ingestion of negatively buoyant downdraft air. This decay process is
different than that described by Rotunno and Klemp (1982). The first draft
of a manuscript for publication in the Journal of Atmospheric Science is
ready to be submitted.

The RAMS model was used to show that dryline formation may
at times be influenced by soil moisture values. A simulation was
conducted to show that the development of deep convection on the dryline
can depend entirely on the values of soil moisture.
